What brought you into the music industry?
Destiny :) And I will be forever grateful I've been working in live music industry for past 10 years, most of those on tour with the greatest musicians that walked this planet. I fell in love with capturing the passion and energy that happens on stage when the musicians are outside of their bodies fully connected to music.
How is your life affected by COVID-19?
Affected to the fullest! I was on tour with Guns N' Roses in South America when we were sent home without knowing when we will return to work. And still not knowing 8 months later. Our industry is fully shut with over 200.000 people losing their job globally without any help from governments. As we are all independent contractors, we don't get support we deserve. Not even mentioning, that most of these people, including me, were used to certain lifestyle and constant traveling. Going from 100 to zero in a second, leaves a lot of people with feeling of uselessness and depression. Hope we can return to "normal" soon or at least get help while we're waiting. Stay strong everyone! We will get through this!
Have I benefited from a COVID relief fund?
How do you feel in general?
I'm always trying to look at everything from a positive perspective and even with loosing a job that I absolutely love, I'm learning how to slow down and finally find some time for myself.Getting myself in a different creative projects that I didn't had time for and looking for ways to reinvent myself :) Its a new and exciting journey and I hope we all get out of this stronger and better :)
A short funny/memorable/touching story on the job.
Too many to mention! We prank each other all the time, on stage, on the bus, plane, everywhere. A lot of times you feel like you're a kid in a summer camp and backstage labyrinths are much like the scene from The Spinal Tap. You run into walls in your hotel room a lot as you change rooms every 1-2 nights and you forgot you're in a new room with different layout. You look at magnets at gas stations to find out which state you're in when your driver pulls up in the middle of the night. I remember swimming in the pit area of the stage when it got flooded during an Uproar Festival ( the show was cancelled, but enough water accumulated, for us to have a smart idea to go for swim. haha ) or not being able to get to festival site at Rio de Janeiro because of a drug war in favelas behind the hotel. There is never a dull moment on tour :)
