Maya Sontheimer

My name is Maya and I've been working as a Tour Manager and Artist Manager for 10 years. I love my job and everything that has to do with live music. I also love nature and food. If I can't work in the music industry anymore, I’d probably be living on a farm, growing my own vegetables and throwing dinner parties (with live music, of course!)

What brought you into the music industry?

My fascination and passion for music & live music came early through my parents whom are both music lovers and took me to concerts when i was very young.

How is your life affected by COVID-19?

It came to a standstill. Nothing is like it once was and most of the time I feel pretty lost.

Have I benefited from a COVID relief fund?

How do you feel in general?

It feels very vague and uncertain. But I am trying to take good care of myself and my beloved ones. I am using this time to get involved with projects that I never had time for before and I spend a lot of time in nature.

A short funny/memorable/touching story on the job.

While being on tour and taking care of the band & crew, I had to additionally take care of a little rat that was given to the singer as a birthday present. That rat became my travel companion and friend for 3 weeks. It was wild.
